I cater my teaching style to the student, and will work with a student to tailor my lessons to their style of learning. When tutoring biology I like to use analogies to make the material easier to remember. I also enjoy pushing students to tell me what they know about a topic, and working with them to improve their understanding!
I have a degree in Human Biology from Stanford University, and have experience in tutoring in AP Biology. I've helped students increase their grade from a C+ to an A- in two trimesters. At Stanford, I've enjoyed learning about anatomy, cell biology and more!
Good! Accepted lesson request of reviewing middle school biology for high school Bio Accelerated placement test but did not at all follow up with it (even after having a class with the tutor and them being enthusiastic and agreeing to teach it multiple times). Said that she would essentially have to back out and quit because she couldn't prepare to question me/help me review (and I even gave her the list of some of the specific topics and a handful of certified books with test questions included in them to look into, so she essentially didn't even have to research for material), not even teach. I'd like to credit her for at least telling me a few days in (although I was very, very tight on time and having the tutor quit on me didn't seem like the smartest move), and although she seemed like a good person and was energetic at first and kind, the overall experience was certainly not the best. A 3/5 is being given because she, again, seems like a generous, patient and passionate person, but I'm sincerely hoping any more of her students don't go through the same thing.
