About Jon

I'm a mathematics and statistics graduate from the University of Queensland (with a year studied at the University of Western Australia). I have experience working in data analytics and now consult as a data analyst to help everyone from doctors to marketing clients get the most from their data. In addition to this, I've tutored 100's of students of all ages and helped them achieve confidence and competence in units they once found very challenging.

About the lesson

Navigating the world of data analysis can be a daunting task, filled with complexities that often leave students feeling overwhelmed. As a seasoned tutor, I specialise in cutting through the confusion inherent in data analysis and breaking down the difficult aspects of data analysis so that anyone can learn it.

My approach is straightforward and efficient, focusing on providing practical solutions and guidance to save valuable time. I understand the frustration that comes with trying to learn intricate statistical methods and analytical tools, and my goal is to simplify these complexities for all my students. Whether it's cleaning data sets or tackling challenging statistical concepts, my approach is centred on breaking down these components into smaller, easy to understand pieces.

By simplifying complex concepts and tailoring my teaching style to suit individual learning preferences, I aim to make the seemingly insurmountable hurdles of data analysis not only manageable but also enjoyable. Time is precious, and my goal is to help students save valuable hours that might otherwise be spent wrestling with statistical methods to no avail. With a commitment to fostering a supportive and patient learning environment, I empower my students to confidently navigate the world of data analysis, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed for success. Jon tutored me for my quantitative data unit at Curtin University as part of my MPH. After sitting my first test and only just scraping by with a pass I decided I needed help. And that was Jon! I have not got a strong maths background, and Jon was very kind, understanding and worked around my limited maths knowledge.

I was super stressed by this unit, however knowing I could see Jon weekly to work through things was a huge help, took the stress off and I started to relax and enjoy the unit (and learn enough to help others!)
My only regret was not finding Jon till I had sat my first test.

I would recommend Jon as a tutor to anyone who needs some support. He was always reliable and made time to see me, and was very flexible. I really appreciated all of his help!
