About Jayasri
Hi, I'm Jayasri! I'm a Calgary-based civil engineer with a Master of Engineering from Concordia University and over 1 year of experience tutoring mathematics. Before moving to Canada, I also taught Civil engineering courses at the university level as an Assistant Professor, so I bring both strong subject knowledge and real classroom teaching experience. Math is at the heart of everything I've studied and worked on, and I love helping students build confidence in it — whether that means catching up, keeping up, or getting ahead.

I offer math tutoring for elementary through high school students, covering arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and introductory calculus, aligned with the Alberta curriculum.
Every student learns differently, so I begin with a short assessment to identify strengths and gaps, then build a personalized plan. My style is patient and step-by-step: I break topics into manageable pieces and don't move on until each concept is truly clear. As an engineer, I love connecting math to the real world — showing how algebra, geometry, and calculus are used in designing bridges, roads, and buildings — which makes abstract ideas feel concrete.
A typical lesson includes reviewing the previous session, explaining new concepts with worked examples, guided practice, and independent problem-solving, with time for homework questions. Parents receive regular progress updates.
My goal is simple: to replace "I'm bad at math" with genuine confidence. Available online with flexible evening and weekend scheduling.
