About Ellis
Hi, I'm Ellis, an Economics graduate and current master's student with a passion for teaching economic concepts to others. I understand firsthand how overwhelming economics can feel, but I also know how insightful and empowering it feels to understand the mystery that is "the economy". My goal is to guide students through this process with clarity and real-world understanding. I've spent years developing a strong foundation in economic theory, political economy, economic research. Whether you are preparing for an exam, tackling a difficult paper, or just trying to stay afloat in a challenging class, I'm here to provide supportive and effective tutoring at an affordable price.

My teaching method:
-identifying where the student is stuck (e.g., theory, application, problem-solving)
-ground ideas in real-world examples
-break down complex ideas in tangible steps
Typical lesson:
1. Check-in with current topic and points of struggle
2. Concept overview - the "why" behind topics
3. Guided walkthrough using homework or examples
4. Independent attempt at problem with help as needed
5. Wrap-up, takeaways, and game plan for what's next
What sets me apart:
I am still a student myself, and can relate to the struggles that many new economics students have since I recently had them myself. Having gone on my own journey from struggling with economics to pursuing a master's degree in the subject, I can teach frameworks for dealing with any economics problem a high school or undergraduate student may encounter.
Who my lessons are for:
-High school or college students taking any 100-400 level Economics course (or A.P. courses, for high schoolers)
-Business students struggling with their Economics requirements
-Adult learners brushing up on economics
**Disclaimer**: I do NOT give financial advice. I am strictly an economics tutor.
