History is a story that should be interesting, getting students involved in each story should be a teacher’s main priority. I like to pick a place or event and go through it chronologically, then end with a deeper discussion. I will give the information straight, even if the topics are difficult, because the truth is always better than propaganda. I teach high schoolers and freshman college level.
