About Connor
I am currently in my second year of a Master of Science in Mathematics Education at Oregon State University (with one quarter to graduate!). I have been teaching high school math at a k-12 school where I am the only high school math teacher in Northwest Oregon for three years. I teach Pre-algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Data Science, and Algebra II.

I prefer to help students understand the subject intuitively as opposed to promoting memorization. Formulas certainly have their time and place but I find them easier to recall and utilize after you’ve had that “Oh… that’s where that comes from” moment.
About My Math Journey:
I love mathematics, though I haven’t always. My relationship with the subject ebbed and flowed during my time as a student. At times, I would view myself as “good” at math and at times I would say “I wasn’t a math person.” As I got older, I had a few good teachers and a number of positive life experiences with mathematics. I now view it as lens that helps to enhance my perspective of the world around me. I’d be happy to share what I can of that lens and how it works for me.
