About Tom
I reside in Northeast Ohio and hold an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Eastern Michigan University. I am currently pursuing graduate study at Liberty University with a goal of teaching Political Science at the undergraduate level with an emphasis on Political Philosophy.
As an undergraduate student at Eastern Michigan, I worked for a time as a supplemental instruction leader for work study. In this role I worked with a professor to lead group study sessions that were voluntarily attended by students. These sessions included clarification of course materials and test prep. On a couple of occasions I delivered lectures for the professor.

I help students apply the academic material to real world applications in government and social organization.
My goal is to help students develop critical thinking skills to improve their civic knowledge and to apply philosophies to practical public policy and citizen involvement applications. I am a big believer in going right to the source material in the great books as well as in the use of the Socratic Method.
I aim to teach students the how and why of things so that they understand the material rather than simply help them recall facts so they can get a good grade.
