About Alison
My name is Alison, and I am a graduate student at Boston University, studying epidemiology and biostatistics! By the end of my high school education, I completed courses in AP Statistics and AP Calculus. While I enjoyed math, it was not always easy, so I understand that the learning process can be frustrating. If you are struggling or looking for extra support, I am here to help!
My hope is that you will not only get better at math, but that you will also develop a sense of your personal learning style - everyone learns differently and that's okay!

Offering help with math homework and review of math concepts for students taking middle-school math. Doing math is the best way to get better at it, so my teaching method will involve working through practice problems with students to help them enhance their problem-solving skills.
I will base my lessons on material that the student is covering in class, so that there is a sense of consistency and cohesion. I do ask for help in letting me know ahead of time what subjects or topics are being covered.
As a graduate student, I have relatively flexible hours and can meet with students after-school on weekdays or at select times on weekends. My goal is to be helpful and approachable, so that my students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning!
