About Kirti
Throughout my academic journey, I have been deeply passionate about mathematics and its applications. My educational background, including a bachelor's degree from the University of Delhi with a CGPA of 8.2 and a master's degree from Jamia Millia Islamia (India's third ranked central university) with a CGPA of 9, has equipped me with a strong foundation in mathematics. Both institutions are highly reputed, with Jamia Millia Islamia being ranked as one of the top central universities in India. These experiences in both schools instilled in me a love for mathematical reasoning and problem-solving, which initially led me to pursue a PhD in Mathematics at Auburn University. At Auburn, I have been working diligently to meet the eligibility requirements to begin research, which include completing two years of coursework, passing two preliminary exams, and finishing four sequences of courses. By Spring 2025, I will have completed the four required sequences, and I have already passed one preliminary exam in Applied Mathematics. I intend to complete the second preliminary exam during Summer 2025 in Algebra

My teaching style comes from my experiences as a student. I struggled with many challenges in school, and those experiences shaped the kind of teacher I want to be. I aim to create a classroom where students feel supported, understood, and encouraged to learn.
Before class, I upload notes so students know what we’ll cover. This helps them come prepared. I always plan my lessons carefully, starting each topic from the basics. Even if students already know a concept, I review it to make sure everyone is on the same page. This helps build a strong foundation and makes learning easier.
In class, I focus on explaining ideas clearly and solving lots of examples. Doing many examples helps students understand how to solve problems step by step.Since for every class I take worksheets, After teaching a topic—like Topic A—I ask students to try questions about it right away on the worksheet,similarly say I discussed topic B I would ask them instantly to look at the problems related to topic B I make sure I add all different types of problems. This helps them practice and apply what they just learned. I check their answers, help those who are stuck, and make sure everyone understands. I also repeat the most important topics several times during the semester so students feel confident by the time of their finals.
I like to use PowerPoint presentations in my classes because students enjoy the visuals. These slides often include pictures and clear explanations that break down complex topics into simple steps. Along with PowerPoints, I also use worksheets and activities to keep the lessons balanced and interactive
