About Mira
With the support of a Fulbright grant, I spent the last year in Norway studying and doing research at the University of Oslo. I'm currently in my second year of a master's program there in the social sciences, but I will be living in Boston for the next year to write my thesis.
I received my BA from Wesleyan University in the Science in Society Program, with concentrations in anthropology and environmental science. I received high honors in my major and university honors, which is Wesleyan's highest academic award given to less than 1% of each graduating class. These awards were based on my coursework and a 140-page senior thesis, which I wrote about a centuries-old orchard in Connecticut. I was also on the dean's list all four years and inducted early into the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
My interdisciplinary educational background has been very reading, writing, and research intensive, giving me the skills to help students at various levels with their writing projects. As a student myself, I know the value of kind, thorough, and thoughtful feedback, and I enjoy working hard to provide that for others!

My lessons will begin by getting to know the student's learning and writing style, and the types of assistance they are looking for. Depending on the student's needs, we can set up a series of lessons or regular meetings to work on papers, research projects, personal essays, applications, or creative stories.
As a writing mentor and tutor for undergraduates at Wesleyan University for three years, I learned and practiced strategies to guide students from different disciplines along every stage of the writing process. Whether brainstorming, outlining, writing, or editing, I will be there to discuss ideas and provide constructive feedback! I am passionate about helping people articulate their ideas more clearly on the page, and I enjoy building a safe and trusting environment for people to share and improve their writing.
