About Maureen
I am a graduate student at CCSU studying TESOL- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I am fluent in Spanish and French, and have studied both since childhood. My BA is in Spanish and French, with a minor in linguistics. I have tutored many classmates privately in the past and been able to help them raise their grades.

My teaching method is to first assess what the area of difficulty is and then move forward from there. When discussing homework assignments, I talk the student through the problem in a way that guides them and shows them how to approach the problem without providing answers for them directly. My aim is to equip students with the toolset to tackle their challenge on their own, by showing them the best way to break down and dissect homework problems, assignments, and difficulty in learning a language into smaller, more manageable steps. My experience in linguistics gives me the added benefit of understanding the process of learning a new language and how best to help those trying to learn a second language, and I incorporate my skills in this area into my teaching style.
