About Ethan

Hello! I believe that what sets me apart from other tutors is that I combine strong mathematical training with teaching experience. I am currently an M.S. Mathematics student, have a B.S. in Mathematics with a Computer Science Certificate, and have studied subjects such as Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Topology, Probability, Numerical Analysis, and Data Structures in Python. I have multiple years of experience teaching at universities/individually.

About the lesson

My lessons are focused on helping students understand both the steps and the reasoning behind mathematics. I usually begin by identifying what the student is working on, checking which concepts are unclear, and then walking through examples before giving the student similar problems to try independently. I emphasize clear problem-solving habits, exam preparation, and correcting mistakes in a useful way.

I tutor high school, college, and early graduate-level mathematics, including Calculus, Trigonometry, ACT/SAT prep, Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and proof-based subjects. My background includes experience as a university teaching assistant, one-on-one math tutor, grader, and small-group instructor for courses such as Calculus. I have also helped students prepare for AP Calculus and AP Physics exams.
