About Edikan
I've been teaching recorder and piano for 5 years, as well as performing on stage for even more than that, so I have a wealth of experience and knowledge to pass on to you. One thing I value when it comes to teaching is that my student is able to grasp what I teach and that learning is fun and engaging, and that the student is taught with a great deal of patience and commitment. Over the years, I have grown in this and you will benefit from a class with me. I look forward to building many musical milestones with you.

My teaching method is hands-on and while I introduce music theory, I show examples clearly and even use the instrument of choice to show how you can achieve it. I also utilize exercises (fingering exercises for recorder and for piano as well as vocal exercises for voice) that help improve technique of whatever instrument you are playing.
My lesson plan for each instrument includes a topic to be worked on practically as well as a song to be played where necessary. On that front, I'm usually always making use of a timing device (metronome), the instrument of choice and a keyboard for any Harmonix backup necessary.
As a tutor, I take the achievement of the student as highly important above all else. But in doing so, I exercise a great deal of patience with my students in order to help them not only grow but grow efficiently. I'm also more than willing to encourage and praise my students when they are doing the right thing, as well as willing to provide helpful solutions to those that aren't, as well as pep up those with low morale to get them playing again.
My lessons are for children as well as adults. I'm quite able to teach absolute beginners, as well as take those in intermediate to advanced levels and help them with their respective issues in music.
