About Brianna
When you're a singer, you are the instrument. My mission is not simply to teach students how to impress an audience, but to develop a healthy artistic relationship with their own own body and working understanding of their art.
A great educator strives to inspire discipline, passion, and grace. Consistency and willingness to engage with difficulty are essential for progress. However, true resilience also requires curiosity and acceptance of the process—a process including confusion and failure.
This is how the great educators in my own life operated—people to whom I owe so much of who I am, so much of what inspires and sustains me each day. Whether I'm regularly supporting a student or simply stepping in for a difficult moment, I hope to be that kind of educator for them.
As of now, I am pursuing my artist diploma at the John J. Cali School of Music, Montclair State University after completing my masters there and my bachelors at Wake Forest University. For several years, I have taught voice privately and at the Thurnauer School of Music. I have also served as a vocal coach, director, and lyric diction TA in English, Italian, German, and French.
I have served as a voice teacher (private studio and at the JCC Thurnauer School of Music), vocal coach, and director. During my masters, I served as a lyric diction TA in English, Italian, French, and German.
As a soprano, I perform in the US and abroad, primarily as a classical soloist, but also in musical theater, choral singing, and limited jazz. In 2022, I was featured in the anthology 'Performing Character: From Stage to Page," and, in 2026, completed a performable translation of Marco Savatteri's 'Il Risveglio degli Dei.'

I offer personalized lessons dependent on the student's particular goals, means, age range, and proficiency. However, for every student in every subject, I emphasize the cultivation of consistently productive, healthy, and engaging modes of thought, study, and practice.
My experience ranges from preteens to fellow adults. Though I strongly prefer teaching voice lessons in-person, but am happy to provide lyric diction and repertoire coaching online. If you are exceptionally close to Montclair State University (weekdays + Saturday) or downtown Tenafly NJ (Sunday), I may be able to teach in your home. Otherwise, I have access to a local rehearsal/study space.
The first session will constitute a thirty minute interview (free) so as to outline our objectives, determine required materials (if necessary), and become familiar. Future lessons range from thirty minutes to an hour and half in accordance with student preferences and abilities.
Subjects
- Voice lessons
- Vocal/Repertoire coaching
- Lyric diction
- General music (intro to musical concepts, instruments, production, and appreciation)
If you require tutoring in highly specialized topics within genres, movements, or disciplines, let me know so that I can determine my eligibility.
Policies
- While I am open to working with multiple students simultaneously in lyric diction or general music, I do not give regular class voice lessons. However, I can accommodate a duet or small ensemble for vocal/repertoire coaching.
- Regarding cancellations, please give at least 12 hours notice for in-person lessons and 12 hours notice for online lessons. If not, I will charge half of my lesson fee. Exceptions are, of course, made for emergencies.
- If you need to move your session to another time or date, please try to give me 12 hours notice. However, I will not charge you so long as you contact me before our scheduled time.
- Though I may suggest supplementary materials, I will never require my students to purchase books. I can provide paper handouts, online documents, and library books free of charge (including most sheet music). However, if a student would like to use supplementary materials that I don't have access to, they will be responsible for providing them.
