About Maren
I have almost a decade of experience in tutoring. I have both tutored students and needed tutoring myself at times in my life -- everyone struggles somewhere, but admitting you're struggling is the first step in getting help.
I think this perspective of my own academic struggles make me a better tutor today as I understand that everyone learns differently and it has taught me extreme patience -- both with myself and with others. I strive to create a judgment-free space where students feel comfortable asking those questions they might be too shy or embarrassed to ask at school in front of their friends. Now the REAL question is, when are we getting started?!

I can help you with your homework, summer packet, OR you can tell me ahead of time what you're struggling with and we can go over the lesson together. Sometimes you just have to hear it again in different words... and that makes all the difference (especially in math!)
When I was in school I had a math teacher, let's call him Mr. Q. My best friend loved Mr. Q and thought he was the best math teacher we ever had. BUT for me, NOTHING made sense in his class.... With math, it's oftentimes ALL about HOW something is explained and not every way of explaining will click with everyone. I will do my best to try and explain it in multiple ways to try and get it to click for you. We will do practice questions together as a hands on way of learning.
Summer is a GREAT time to catch up and solidify skills learned in the previous school year to make sure you're ready to go next fall!
