About Ashley

Hello, my name is Ms. Heinichen. I am excited to be your tutor and make math exciting for you! Together, we will explore math concepts through hands-on creativity. Math was always my favorite subject in school because my teachers knew the best ways to teach me. They reminded me that learning is all about making mistakes and every time I tried again, I was able to master several math techniques. I am looking forward to working with you and making math fun again.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to students' needs, levels, and interests. I believe an important part of learning is engagement. I have several intentional resources that have boosted students' confidence and excitement in math. A typical lesson plan includes a warm-up, lesson with gradual release techniques, independent/guided work, and formative assessment. I have taught math from 3rd-5th grade. As a tutor, my skills of previous experience of working with diverse learners, I will be able to make instruction meaningful, engaging, and successful.
