About Shay
I'm a University of Queensland graduate with a Bachelor of Business Management majoring in International Business. I've worked for roughly two years total in Japan in the Mie-ken area and in Tokyo, teaching English to children in small groups and adults in individual classes, in addition to lots of private tutoring over the years, so I've had a lot of experience to adapting to different learning styles and engaging my students with content. I'm skilled in Japanese and proficient with basic to intermediate French and have made Maths a much easier topic to understand for my ex-students while tutoring in Brisbane.

I work hard to understand how my students approach learning and adapt content to fit learning styles. If a student isn't engaged in content they'll never learn as quickly or as efficiently as if they were, so I always make sure that the knowledge is being presented in a manner that best fits the student's style. I'm skilled at breaking down information into its core elements and restructuring it in a variety of ways, if something is difficult to process, changing your perspective on it is the best way to understand.
