About Renee
I love teaching, I love seeing my students succeed in social studies, I love how history is always changing because we are constantly learning new information about ourselves, historical events, and the role the social sciences have in the past, present, and future. I was the type of teacher who held after-school reviews for tests like the US Constitution, AP US History, and AP European History. And I have mock exams for students to take so that the format and necessary knowledge are not a shock when it is time to take the test. I want to be able to help you, the student, achieve good grades, apply knowledge to other academic disciplines, and be able to make decisions on current events based on how history is still relevant in today’s world.

Project based learning with heavy focus on whichever state standards, test studying and taking strategies, and remedial activities to boost grades and test scores. I have lessons with primary and secondary sources, encouraging students to develop critical thinking skills, assistance with writing in the APA format, AP history DBQs and other writing assignments.
Because I have taught 7th graders to 21 year olds, I know what any requirements will need to be met for my students to have success in their normal school setting.
Some brief examples of lessons I taught are:
Geographical history, i. e - comparing and contrasting the 13 colonies
Government, i. e. - compare and contrast the major political parties of the United States using a Venn Diagram
History, i.e.- Analyze primary and secondary sources to determine why Prohibition was going to fail.
