About Brooke
My name is Brooke Emily. I'm an experienced artist with a BFA in Visual Art + Design. I have a strong background in sketching and painting. My style is vibrant, contemporary and I enjoy employing a variety of mediums. "Procreate" has been my most recent art discovery and I absolutely love it as another medium to throw in the mix.
I'm located on Vancouver Island, Canada. I've worked in the education realm for the majority of my professional life and due to Covid restrictions, I've been teaching online for the past year and a half and have become very accustomed to it. I'm confident teaching online and am currently working for a child psychologist as an online therapeutic teacher.
I have my own art business, Spread That Ink, where I sell art prints, stationery, and calendars internationally. Through this business, I have taught art to kids and adults in a variety of settings from day camps, school visits, drop-in programs, brewery events, and company parties.

I have been an art teacher for the past ten years. I'm well versed in a wide range of mediums and love to incorporate classic mediums into digital works.
I would begin by asking you what style or medium you feel drawn to. From here, I would give you a few options and we would begin. These options could include sketching (charcoal, pencil, graphite), painting (watercolor, oil, acrylic), or digital (Procreate preferred).
I love to let these mediums interact with each other and encourage the element of surprise in the field of art. The Bob Ross cliché, "happy accidents" is a truism.
The lessons could be for anyone. I have taught at preschools, high school classrooms, senior centers, breweries, corporate events, and on. Anyone who's interested in expanding their artistic horizons, I'm your tutor.
