About Simran
Hi! I'm a Physics and Maths graduate from the University of Toronto, and a big fan of problem-solving. Fun fact: I chose to study Physics because I was obsessed with the DC show The Flash growing up! Since graduating, I’ve worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at a healthcare AI startup, which inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Computing at Imperial College London. Teaching has always been a passion ~ I used to help out at my mum’s maths centre whenever I had free time, and I’ve loved it ever since. I’ve since tutored students from a range of backgrounds, helping them boost their confidence and see the fun side of Maths and Physics (yes there actually is one!). More importantly though, I understand the importance of strong academic results and know how to work towards top grades ;) I’m friendly, patient and always try to explain things in a way that actually makes sense: no jargon, just clarity. Whether you're struggling with a tricky topic or aiming for top grades, I'm here to help.

I believe the best way to learn Maths and Physics is by actively engaging with the material. After explaining concepts and relating them to real-world examples, I work through problems with students and provide additional practice to complete independently. As a naturally curious learner, I encourage questions and aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable clarifying doubts: a key step towards deep understanding. Lessons are typically an hour long, but I’m happy to adjust this based on the topic or student preference. I have experience teaching the GCSE curriculum to students in Years 9–11, and A-level content to Year 12 students.
