About Meagan
From the age of 4, I knew that I wanted to become a teacher. After graduating high school with honors, I started my pursuit for a teaching degree. I earned an A.A. in Early Childhood Education, a B.A. in Early Childhood Education, and a M.A in Mathematics Education. I have taught elementary school for 8 years. I have a reputation of being an encouraging, supportive teacher that sets high standards for her students. I believe that building relationships is key in student achievement. My philosophy is "students don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care."

About the lesson

A typical lesson begins with modeling the skills taught. I start by showing the students how to correctly demonstrate a specific skill. Next, I provide an opportunity for students to practice the skill with my support. I will intervene as needed for students that need further support toward mastering the skill. Lastly, I provide students to independently practice the skill. From beginning to end, I gradually release students to build their confidence while also supporting their learning.
