About Katie
I graduated in June 2020 from UCC with a Bachelor of Arts degree in world languages with a joint honours in Chinese and French. I have spent the last academic year teaching French to secondary level first year students, as well as Mandarin to secondary level Transition year students. I also have a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

My general teaching method is to prepare each lesson with a PowerPoint, explaining vocabulary, grammar etc., as we go along. I then give the students a task based on what we have just focused on, allowing them to use the lesson themselves, and allowing them to learn from their own as well as each other’s mistakes as they do the exercise. While this is my main approach to teaching, I am aware that this may not suit all students and so if it is necessary I tailor the lesson to the student/students being taught.
