In 2018 I obtained my three-year degree at the Ca 'Foscari University of Venice, graduating in English and I am currently finishing my master's degree in language sciences (linguistics, linguistics, Germanic philology) at the same university. I also obtained the teaching qualification (24 credits in: theory and didactics of language education, cognitive and developmental psychology, didactic and educational technologies, special pedagogy and didactics of inclusion). Since 2015 I have been providing tuition in English, Spanish and Italian grammar to middle and high school students. In 2018, following an internship period, I had the opportunity to work as an English teacher at a private school in Mestre (Target Lingua srl) where I taught English to children aged 3 to 10, using the material provided. from school. In 2019, I worked as a hostess at the cruise port of Venice, managing boarding and disembarking for MSC ships, strengthening my language skills. From February to April 2021, I was able to work as an Italian language assistant for students aged 14 to 19 attending Perth Modern School, WA. Through these experiences I was able to increase my knowledge of the strategies and learning styles of the students, resorting to the personalization of teaching. I also became familiar with the assessment criteria and with the creation and organization of the didactic material.

About the lesson

My lessons are based on dialogue, taking into consideration that the student in question needs support and must be helped in the awareness and management of their own learning: the student must learn to learn!
My lessons are mainly aimed at middle school and first two years of high school students (beginner level A1 / A2 and intermediate B1) and focus on familiarization with unclear grammatical topics, through the explanation and subsequent putting into practice of the theory. The student will carry out some exercises with my help and my corrections, and, in the last part of the lesson, will carry out by himself / herself other exercises with subsequent correction. Often, I also provide support in the writing of texts and in carrying out comprehension of the text, encouraging the independence of the student. The duration of the lesson ranges from one hour to an hour and a half, with the exception of two hours near a test.
The material used is often created by me personally according to the difficulties of the student, respecting learning styles and strategies (visual: greater focus on images / text structure; auditory: use of recordings / listening etc ...). Generally, I initially propose easier completion exercises, followed by translations and composition of sentences, depending on the topic in question. In the case of a test, I usually propose two lessons followed by a third review lesson. Homework is necessary to memorize the contents and become familiar with them.
I never raise my voice, I rely on empathy and the need to identify with the condition of the student in difficulty. This is the only way to achieve better performance.
