About Sophie
Ever since the age of 15, I have worked with students. This began with teaching swim lessons. I held onto this passion of working with students through college, where I taught health classes at Title I schools across California's Bay Area. After graduating from college, I took some time to work in environmental consulting. However, I soon found that I missed working to develop young minds, and I took on a part-time role as the head coach of a high school swim team. From this, it became apparent that I wished to return to working with students full-time, and I soon landed a job teaching middle and high school science and economics. I love working with young minds to help them find what they are passionate about, and how to leverage their passions into a successful future.

Experienced, empathetic teacher with years of experience working with children from across a wide array of backgrounds. I see each child as an individual, and am particularly skilled in individualization, finding areas that your student particularly succeeds in, and areas to focus on. I strive to tailor my instruction to your child's needs and interests, ensuring that they find our work to be engaging, helpful, and even fun. I have experience working with children ages 3rd grade through high school, in subjects ranging from advanced reading and writing skills, to a wide range of sciences and mathematics.
