About Zhang

I'm Yuxuan Zhang, a graduated Imperial College London student and currently taking Information Technology at UWA.

In my early age, I was fortunate enough to have a mentor that took care of my life and study. He talked about my hobbies and encouraged me to pursue my interests and make some achievements through personal efforts. In addition, he talked about his learning journey and his understanding of various disciplines, which really helped me position what I really like and what tactics I can use to learn different subjects.

With this experience, I reckon that if one received a helping hand when they grow up, they are equipped with both physical and mental power to overcome the difficulty in life and are able to be a better person, so it's my pleasure to be a change-maker to potential people, especially in areas where educational resources are scarce.

I used to be a teaching assistant in Imperial College London when I was in year 3. The work is not complex, just answering the questions to year 1 and year 2 students at the workshop session. However, this is an unforgettable experience because I found it not easy to explain concepts you know to the people who don't know. Sometimes I ignore the background of students and sometimes I don't fully understand the concept so there are some ambiguities occurring in my explanation. This experience reminds me that people often underestimate the difficulty of some work before they start to do it, and luckily I happened to find the sense of achievement to help students learn and grow. I feel that some of my values lie within their smiling face and a whispering 'thank you' which deepens my beliefs that I would love to continue being a tutor and help more people.

I took A level courses in high school and I attached my transcript for you to review. I have a really good understanding of STEM subjects and my teaching experience in Imperial College London can help me get accustomed to the job here.
