About Laraib

I aspire for a future career in teaching, and would like to start young, to ensure I know how to communicate with students in a way that makes the content easy for them. I also think it would help with my own studies in my PhD to solidify the basic principles of science

About the lesson

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to view my profile. I'm a graduate from King's College London, having gotten a 1st Class Honours in Biochemistry. I also got 3 A's at A Level and 10 A*'s and A's at GCSE. Having attended summer school in Oxford, I have a great understanding of most subjects at the GCSE Level. Being part of the debate club, as well as the secretary of the school's council, I am good at crafting history essay plans and formulating arguments. Mentoring in secondary school also helped me connect with younger pupils and help them understand the content easily. I am now a PhD student specialising in Biology, but for a year I was working in a school, teaching children of different ages and abilities, including children with AEN. I have 4 years of tutoring experience with ages 11 - 17 and have shown results in getting my students the grades that they need to succeed in the future. The past summer I also taught English as a foreign language (TEFL) to children in Thailand, and so am also qualified in that. I would love the opportunity to teach the new generation about all the joys of Science at the highest level, and hope you will consider me to do so! Thanks for reading my profile! I like my lessons to be student based, so I would ask what topics you need help with, and would form a lesson plan accordingly. I would also administer topic tests after to solidify what you've learnt. My lessons would be an hour long (but you can book multiple).

She’s very friendly, knows the syllabus inside and out, and will seamlessly teach you knowledge without you realising it. As a student at kings for biochemistry, she also has great wider reading around the subject
