Hello! My name is Emily, and I am a substitute teacher who works closely with students to help them build confidence and strong foundational skills in mathematics. I hold a Bachelor's degree in General Psychology and am currently completing my degree in secondary mathematics education.

My goal as a tutor is to make learning math engaging, accessible, and tailored to your unique learning style. My teaching method focuses on building a strong foundational understanding while boosting your confidence through active participation and patience. A typical lesson with me starts with a brief review of previous material or a warm-up. Next, I introduce new concepts using clear, relatable examples. We then move into guided practice, where we work through exercises together to ensure you fully grasp the mechanics before you tackle independent work. I always leave time at the end to answer questions and set goals for our next session.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my adaptability. I know that no two students learn in exactly the same way, so I constantly adjust my techniques, pacing, and materials to fit what clicks best for you.
