About Jason
My name is Jason McLaren, Teacher of Design and Technology up to A-level at Harris Academy Orpington. I am a hardworking teacher who enjoys teaching because it's a great feeling to impart knowledge onto others and help in the moulding of young minds. As an educator, it is a feeling of great success when my students achieve good passes in their external examination/GCSE.

I employ the use of synchronous e-learning methods such as scheduled and timed online tests, virtual classrooms and online breakout groups, interactive shared whiteboards and PowerPoint slides that learners can use to collaborate with the tutor. The use of Coaching techniques take a non-directive approach to personal tutoring, that focus on the students and aim to support them to identify their own goals and issues and develop strategies and solutions. As a tutor, my ultimate goal is to help students become independent learners.
