About Weiyu

Hi, I’m Weiyu, a native Chinese speaker who enjoys helping others learn and feel confident using Chinese in real life. I believe learning a language should be practical, encouraging, and enjoyable rather than stressful.

I want to teach Chinese because I genuinely enjoy explaining things clearly and seeing students make progress, even with small steps. I understand that learning a new language can feel challenging, so I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions.

Whether you’re learning Chinese for daily communication, travel, or personal interest, I’m here to guide you patiently and help you build confidence step by step.

About the lesson

I take a student-centred and practical approach to tutoring Chinese, focusing on clear communication and real-life usage. My lessons combine structured input (vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation) with guided speaking practice, listening exercises, and simple cultural context to help students build confidence and accuracy step by step.

A typical lesson lasts 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s needs and level. Each class includes revision, new content, and interactive practice, with personalised feedback and learning tips.

I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biomedical Science and have strong experience explaining complex concepts in a clear and logical way. As a native Chinese speaker, I am patient, detail-oriented, and adaptable to different learning styles.

My lessons are suitable for beginners to intermediate learners, including children, teenagers, and adults, especially those who want to improve everyday conversation, pronunciation, or foundational Chinese skills.
