About Jake
I am a very enthusiastic teacher. I am fascinated by languages. Spanish as a topic can encompass anything and everything, just like every other language. If you find ancient history interesting (for example), we can use that as a "way in" into Spanish. I prefer not to force topics onto students, but rather take advantage of their own real interests and turn them into a tangible connection to Spanish.

My aim in tutoring is to show each student how they can take charge of their studies. I take an immersive approach, where Spanish is spoken as often as possible without overwhelming the student. I put great emphasis on resources and content being used outside tuition hours also, which typically involves finding texts, audio or video material that interests or entertains the student, while giving them regular, authentic contact with the language.
