About Julie
I have 2.5 years online tutoring one-on-one experience with teenagers and children as young as two years old. While working in higher education, I assisted my Director and the VP of Finance in developing, hosting, and running a non-profit collaborative organization which we housed and oversaw on our college campus. I have experience as a Corporate Trainer at Blue Cross Blue Shield franchise, where I taught small groups of adults to prepare them for their new role in the company. I have experience teaching vocabulary and grammar to students of all ages. Reading comprehension and improving overal literacy skills are some of my favorite things to teach. I have taught business English and ESL test preparation. I currently teach high school students how to improve their public speaking skills.

My methods are high engagement with some degree of entertainment. Learning should be fun. With adults I have taught and tutored as well as kids, I love to encorporate games. I believe a higher level of learning and language aquisition takes place when the person learning is having fun with the teacher. Games and activities reduce stress levels and relax the learner which allows for more engagement and concentration.
