About Sophie
Hello, my name is Sophie and I am an A-A** student who recently finished my GCSEs. I am going into tutoring whilst doing my A-levels in hopes to help other students achieve their best whilst using this an an opportunity to experience working with other students.
I am most confident in maths and English - in which I got 8s and 9s (or A* and A**) - however I am flexible with teaching other subjects such as art, geography (OCR B), psychology (Edexcel) and French (AQA) at GCSE level. For my English GCSEs, I studied with the AQA specification, leading me to do my GCSEs on 'An Inspector Calls', 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'A Christmas Carol'. As a result, I feel most comfortable working with students on these texts.
Personally, I am willing to work with students between the ages of 10-16 as I am most adept to teach at this level of education.
I am based in Bedfordshire and I am offering online lessons, but I would love the opportunity to host in-person lessons if you are located within the Sandy/Beeston area.
Look forward to hearing from you!

I am best suited to teaching students who are enthusiastic, motivated and willing to work with me to strive to achieve the best they can. Because I am closer to the age of the students which I am aiming to be tutoring, I am hoping that they will feel comfortable and less intimidated to work with me as well as feeling understood on a personal level. I pride myself on the fact that I am able to teach content in multiple ways as I was frequently asked by my teachers to help my peers understand certain aspects of a subject. Having just gone through my GCSEs myself, I understand the pressure and the occasional difficulty of having something explained to you in one way when your learning style is completely the opposite. Therefore I can adjust my teaching style in order to best suit other people from this experience.

I'd appreciate the opportunity to have an introduction - whether that be online via a phone call, email, zoom/google meet or in person - before the first proper lesson to get to know and better understand the student. This will help me to establish how to plan and go about future lessons.
