About Lucas
I'm Lucas, I'm 24 years old, I'm from Barcelona and I'm passionate about teaching. This year I have finished the qualifying master's degree in teacher training that allows me to teach classes in secondary and high school, but that does not mean that I want to abandon my role as a private teacher. Normally, I have worked many years as a private teacher in primary, secondary and high school based on advertisements in libraries, people from close environments who required support classes or my own students from school who required extra educational support.
I am passionate about literature and history, but I have experience preparing for all school subjects and for subjects corresponding to the social, humanistic and artistic branch (fonaments de les arts). At the moment, most of my students have managed to carry out what they have proposed and have even ended up enjoying what they did not seem to like at first.

The private classes work as a support to the learning of the students, so it is a priority for my work to know what educational needs they have and what they need to continue learning. When you teach to play an instrument or when you are learning a martial art, you do not move to a more advanced piece or movement until the one you are learning is controlled. However, in current education, the content of the subject depends on the time that the teacher has to teach it and not on the time that the student has to learn it. What this does is that gaps are generated in the knowledge bases and, in the long run, will prevent proper learning of the subject when it reaches more advanced levels.
My job as a private teacher is to use Vygotsky's zone of proximal development (ZPD) method to fill in these gaps and thus not only get the students to pass the exam or the term, but also to be able to retake autonomous learning.
