About Fátima

My name is Fatima. Since I was little, the world of letters has been my passion.
I studied journalism, since writing is what best defines me, however, I always knew that I would be a teacher.
From a very young age I worked giving private lessons to children, even when I was a university student, and I always felt very comfortable playing the role of teacher.
When I finished university I went to London, there in addition to learning English, I worked as a Spanish teacher; I was passionate about this.
When I returned, I did the MAES and at the same time a volunteer as a Spanish teacher for African immigrants; experience that was especially rewarding.
Years of public examinations and private classes is what has come later.
This has allowed me to perfect the student's self-learning methodology, which is based on each student setting their own pace and learning by themselves, internalizing concepts, not just memorizing what they study, which is much more effective, especially in the long term.

About the lesson

My learning method is mainly based on listening to the student. Many times we forget that beyond receiving content, students are people, each with their concerns and difficulties, so it is very important to know how to listen to them and adapt to what they need.

A class with me always begins by asking the student what he knows about the content that we are going to study that day. That knowledge serves to build the subsequent class. If the student has a very basic knowledge, the important thing will be to reinforce that base and expand slowly. On the contrary, if the student has a fairly developed knowledge of the subject, we should structure the activities in such a way that they involve a degree of difficulty and novelty that makes them attractive to the student.

My specialty is the Spanish Language and Literature and English, given my studies and experience. I work with children and adolescents most of the time, however, having worked as a Spanish teacher for foreigners, I have also been able to work with adults.
