I would usually ask you to read the topic you want to ask me before hand and then later on ask you to explain it to me and make the necessary modifications.
The other method I use is i explain the topic and give u assignments so that u get a good grip on the topic.
I believe that teaching must be a two way process and this will benefit both the student and the teacher
