About Maria Eduarda

Hi! I'm Maria Eduarda, but you can call me Duda :) I'm Brazilian, born in Feira de Santana, Bahia, but currently living in Salvador, Bahia. At 18, I moved to the capital of my state to study at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Today, having graduated in the field that fascinates me so much, I try, more and more, to put into practice everything I've learned throughout my years of study. I'm a person with diverse tastes, and always open to learning new things, people, and cultures. Therefore, I believe we'll never run out of things to talk about. Besides, I'm an interested listener – what you have to say will always bring a sparkle to my eyes! I hope we can get to know each other better.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching Portuguese as a foreign language stems from the inseparable link between language and culture. Therefore, classes will focus on language education committed to considering interculturality and the sociocultural backgrounds of students. Here, what matters is embracing different experiences, so that the Portuguese language is taught within a context, considering its real-world use. Classes will be developed in a focused manner, understanding the specific needs of each student. The materials used will be authentic, designed based on well-defined objectives. I am a flexible teacher who always seeks to understand the reality of each student. Furthermore, although I am Brazilian and my teaching is geared towards the Brazilian Portuguese language, I understand that the Portuguese language is present in many countries, which motivates me to teach the language beyond what is considered standard. Finally, classes are designed for different levels, from basic to advanced, regardless of their specific needs. Thus, my work arises from the student's needs.
