About Julie
I have loved science for a long time and in middle school, one of my own teachers heavily encouraged me to lean into my aptitude for biology. Back then, I didn't listen to my teacher but in the end I found my way back to it. I've had so much gratitude for that teacher and hope to pay it forward by helping students discover and develop their own love for science. At times, I struggled with the typical structure of K-12 education. In turn, I hope to work with students in a way that caters to their needs and learning styles so they may be able to better pursue their interests.

I'm a recent graduate from a liberal arts college meaning I was encouraged to study several divisions of biology including genetics and genomics, microbiology, immunology, conservation and ecology, and broader categories like cell and molecular biology. As a recent graduate, I still have my course materials for high level college courses and the eagerness to share my love for biology with others.
