About Karla
I was born and raised in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Spanish, inspired by a deep interest in exploring the richness of the Spanish language. Growing up in a border town Matamoros and neighboring Brownsville made the learning process more accessible, as Spanish is spoken by over 90% of the population. I later pursued and completed a Master’s degree in Spanish Literature, driven by a passion for learning about diverse cultures, particularly Latin American and Peninsular studies. This academic journey was important to me, as I wanted to discover whether our border town shared cultural ties or similarities with other Spanish-speaking regions.

Acquiring a second language can present significant challenges, particularly for learners starting with no prior knowledge. However, by implementing effective pedagogical strategies and utilizing appropriate instructional tools, language acquisition can become an accessible and enriching experience.
