About Sharina
I have 3 years of tutoring experience, and it has been the most rewarding and enjoyable experience I've had the privilege of doing. I always become incredibly invested in the student and their progress, and my priority is to help build their confidence. I truly believe every student is capable, it's just a matter of having the right guidance and I believe I can provide that.
- I have voluntarily tutored both maths and English for a variety of ages for approximately 1 year, (both in-person and online).
- In 2021 I started working in-person at a tutoring centre, teaching maths and overlooking the marking of homework to have an idea of student progress and effort.
- With the same employer, in 2022, I moved to teaching maths online for another year. I have worked with a real variety of ages, from as young as Reception up to GCSEs.

I always prioritise tailoring sessions, lesson delivery and teaching techniques to each student and establishing a safe space where the student feels comfortable enough to ask me questions.
I spend time before each lesson creating lesson plans for the student by incorporating the student's progress/stance from the previous session.
I aim to start each lesson with a brief recap to help boost retention of previous lessons.
Throughout the lesson, I frequently stop to check for their understanding and am more than happy to persist until they feel entirely confident.
My lessons will last for 60 mins, unless the parent/student has other preferences.
