About Mahira
I started my own education journey in a state school and worked my way to studying Engineering at the University of Oxford. Coming from a background where I didn’t always have the guidance or support to know exactly what steps to take, I had to develop my own study techniques, strategies and ways of approaching exams and applications.
I now work as an Engineer in aviation, which was a career I had always dreamed of pursuing. I want to use the experience and knowledge I’ve gained along the way to give students the guidance I wish I had, helping them understand not just what to learn, but how to learn effectively. My aim is to help every student recognise their potential, build confidence and develop the tools and techniques they need to achieve their goals.

Lessons are typically an hour long and student will tell me the topic ahead of the lesson.
I then teach the concepts behind the topic and go through some example questions.
The student will then attempt questions explaining their thought process. This allows me to identify gaps in their understanding and rectify those.
Nearer to exams or mocks we aim to exhaust all possible types of questions that students may be asked, and develop exam techniques to allow the student to quickly and accurately tackle questions.
