I help dedicated students improve quickly with clear technical guidance and a supportive, personalized approach. My students develop stronger intonation, more beautiful tone, and greater confidence in their playing.
As a teacher, I care deeply about my students' goals. I’m happy to meet everyone where they are at progress-wise, and tailor lessons specifically oriented towards their aspirations.
I believe a great technical foundation is vital to excel in repertoire, and make sure all of my students are set up well to succeed. While my main background is teaching classical music, I often incorporate a variety of genres with my students.
I teach dedicated students of a variety of ages and levels, from young kids to adults. I aim to help prepare for auditions, competitions, exams, performances, and the college/conservatory application process. I’m also happy to work with folks learning violin or viola as a hobby or passion.
As a mentor, I make myself available 24/7 to answer questions and help my students with anything related to music.

Aleksi is one of the kindest and best violin teachers I have ever worked with. His dedication is quite special, and I am grateful to have worked under his guidance.
As a colleague Aleksi Zaretsky is one of the hardest working, most professional and charismatic people I’ve ever met. He is a well respected performer/teacher in the bay area music scene and puts the utmost care into his students. I would highly recommend working with Aleksi to anyone looking to take music lessons and dramatically improve their skills!
I worked with him for many years since 2021 and I can say he is an absolute gem. He is super detailed in his teaching, very musical and has an excellent understanding on violin playing. Mr. Zaretsky helped me getting into my dream school (top music school) and has always been super attentive, supportive and one genuine kind human.
I also had the opportunity to play along with him at a local orchestra and I was blown away by his enthusiasm, talent and professionalism. For sure an extremely solid musician and teacher if you want to improve a lot faster.
If you see this Aleksi I just want to say thanks again, you are the amazing :)View more recommendations
