About Gary
"Having built my skills as a self-taught musician through 10 plus years of gigging in Nashville and Austin, I want to show you how to command a stage. My work centers on the stripped-down live performance, teaching the essentials of holding an audience with nothing but acoustic guitar and voice. I guide returning learners, kids, and teens through power chords, chord transitions, music theory, electric technique, reading tabs, improvisation, soloing, blues progressions, songwriting, barre chords, and tuning. Starting from open mic regulars asking how I played, my 9 years of experience allow me to break down complex sounds into simple parts.
I keep things playful, hands-on, and patient during our time together. I have helped many students find their own rhythm on the fretboard. Whether you are picking up the guitar for the first time in years or starting your journey as a teen, I am here to help. Is there a specific song you have always wanted to play?"

"Is it not more fun to practice when you have actual music to play along with? I provide custom backing tracks so that you can practice your soloing and improvisation at home, which makes the whole process feel much more like a real performance. My lessons draw on my 10 plus years of gigging to help you master barre chords, power chords, and complex transitions.
We will cover music theory and electric technique in a way that keeps you playing instead of just reading. You will learn to hold an audience, and that is where the real music starts."
