About Charlisa
Teaching guitar is rarely about showing off flashy solos to a crowded room. I operate as a patient guide for working professionals and intermediate adults who want to understand their instrument deeply. My BMus Popular Music degree informs a curriculum that prioritizes acoustic technique and ear training. You will find me focused on the clarity of your barre chords rather than speed.
My primary goal is to ensure you feel technically secure while navigating complex fretboards. Working with students who have specific goals makes my day productive. I enjoy the process of breaking down intricate fingerpicking patterns for others. Getting to see the frustration of a difficult chord transition vanish is genuinely enjoyable.

A typical hour begins with your fingers finding a comfortable position on the fretboard before we even strike a string. We examine your current reading of tabs to ensure you possess the tools to learn any song independently. My background in Popular Music allows me to bridge the gap between simple chord progressions and the nuanced acoustic techniques used by professional musicians.
Since I focus on intermediate learners, I ensure the pacing reflects your actual professional life and schedule. To keep your momentum building outside of our scheduled time, I include a practice module with every single lesson. These modules act as a map for your individual study sessions throughout the week.
You will never arrive at a session wondering what to focus on next. I am here to build your confidence and your technique simultaneously.
