About Gary
Stepping into your first session, you might feel a bit of nerves about holding a pick correctly. It is just like starting a new language where you stumble before you find the rhythm.
We will look at how to tune your guitar and navigate basic blues progressions right away. My background in the conservatorium helps me explain ear training and reading sheet music without making it feel like a chore. You will learn acoustic technique and even some improvisation tricks to keep things interesting.
I focus on grade exam prep for those who want that structure. There is no rigid path here, just a constant movement toward better sound. You will leave with a clear plan for your next practice session at home.

Playing music feels like a conversation that never ends. Truthfully, I often forget how long 13 years actually is until I see a student nail a blues riff for the first time. My path started with a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music from Queensland Conservatorium and a Licenciatura from Argentina.
These days, I focus on electric technique and fingerpicking while keeping the vibe grounded in the groove. I love showing how simple maintenance keeps an instrument honest. Music is meant to be felt before it is understood.
