About Evelyn

Performing across Nashville and Austin for 13 years shaped my perspective on music. I am a self-taught player who bridges the gap between bedroom practice and stage readiness. My focus remains on adult beginners and intermediate players who want to bridge that divide effectively.

I spent over a decade gigging professionally before transitioning into this teaching role in Washington DC. Watching students find their voice is the best part of my work. My curriculum includes reading tabs, blues progressions, and complex music theory simplified for real-world application.

We also cover fingerpicking, electric technique, and rhythm guitar to keep things moving. I often help students prepare for grade exams while ensuring they maintain a love for the instrument. My background allows me to support your songwriting and ear training in a grounded way. Sometimes, the most helpful thing is just playing songs that actually matter to you.

About the lesson

These sessions utilize my 13 years of gigging to show you what actually works on stage. We incorporate lead guitar lines and structural analysis into every song we choose to learn. My goal is to make the process feel less like a chore and more like a jam session.

I ensure that even complex theory concepts feel accessible and hands-on for you. We keep the vibe playful because learning guitar should be fun for every adult beginner.
