About Carol
Improvisation feels liberating. Sometimes the simplest exercises reveal the most about your progress. I use my 6 years of experience to help you navigate lead guitar and songwriting with ease. We track your improvement through consistent study of sheet music and blues progressions.
Fingerpicking and grade exam prep form the core of our technical work. I provide a free trial session to assess starting level before we begin. Your progress is the primary goal. I am ready to start.

Performing within the Hallé Orchestra for 9 years alongside my Royal Conservatoire of Scotland training defined my artistic identity. Music is complex.
I enjoy supporting advanced learners who want to refine their craft. After 104 students, I find the process of teaching acoustic technique and improvisation deeply rewarding. My background informs how I explain scales and modes to adults.
It is wonderful to see students master difficult chord transitions. Music provides endless curiosity.
