About Charley
Providing steady, consistent feedback is the cornerstone of how I guide you through tricky strumming patterns or improvisation. During our time together, I draw upon 13 years of playing to demonstrate how even a minor adjustment in your posture can completely change your tone.
Because I hold a degree in music, I can break down challenging grade exam prep materials into smaller, digestible segments that do not overwhelm you. I pay close attention to your rhythm to ensure that your progress stays steady as we move through new blues progressions. Absolute beginners often worry about hand positioning, but I make it feel natural. My 13 years of experience allows me to simplify complex concepts like music theory or blues progressions. I taught 388 students to find their own sound on the fretboard.
Holding a BM Guitar degree from Concordia University gives me the technical foundation to explain exactly why a chord shape works. I love seeing a student finally nail a difficult barre chord after weeks of practice. Sometimes the best progress happens when we step back from the sheet music.
