About Ruby

I hold a Bachelor’s in Guitar Performance and Music Theory and have 6 years of experience teaching students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. My philosophy emphasizes both technical skill and expressive musicality, allowing learners to progress confidently while exploring their personal style. I design lessons that are engaging, structured, and tailored to the student’s goals, strengths, and interests.

I teach fingerstyle, chords, scales, improvisation, repertoire, and performance skills, integrating exercises that develop technical precision, rhythm, and musical expression. My lessons balance skill-building with creativity, fostering confidence, independence, and a strong connection to music.

Beyond teaching, I perform, compose, and explore new styles to enrich my instruction. Witnessing students evolve from learning basic chords to performing complex pieces with expressive flair is deeply fulfilling. I am committed to guiding each learner to reach their full potential as a confident and expressive guitarist.

About the lesson

Guitar lessons become inspiring when students understand both the technical and expressive elements of playing. My approach emphasizes fingerstyle, chords, scales, improvisation, solo phrasing, and tone shaping, combined with repertoire study, creative exercises, and performance guidance. Each session encourages hands-on exploration, allowing learners to develop technical skill while connecting emotionally with the music. I provide a supportive and motivating environment that nurtures growth and confidence.

Beginners focus on fundamental techniques such as proper posture, chord transitions, fingerpicking, strumming patterns, and simple melodies. Intermediate learners develop soloing, improvisation, advanced chord shapes, music reading, and rhythmic precision. Advanced learners refine musical expression, stylistic versatility, complex solos, composition, and live performance readiness. I provide detailed feedback, structured exercises, and practice strategies that encourage continuous improvement and musical enjoyment.

Guitar lessons cultivate creativity, patience, and expressive communication. Students learn to interpret music, develop individual style, and perform confidently in different settings. I aim to create lessons that are engaging, enjoyable, and supportive, helping learners progress steadily while fostering a lifelong passion for guitar. The ultimate goal is to empower students to express themselves fully through the instrument while building technical mastery and musical independence.
