About Zoe
Progress does not always arrive through endless technical drills or repetitive exercises. Sometimes you must step away from traditional grade exam prep to focus on the raw joy of playing. I work with advanced learners who want to bridge the gap between reading sheet music and genuine improvisation. My 13 years of experience allow me to identify which specific barre chords or soloing techniques are hindering your growth.
We spend time on maintenance and tuning so that your gear is never the reason you stop practicing. You will find that my lessons focus on practical application rather than abstract theory. I maintain a light touch while guiding you through the songwriting process or acoustic techniques. We can explore your musical interests during our next session.

After teaching 476 students over 13 years, I know exactly where the friction usually occurs during practice. My background as an East-Asian newcomer in Canada, combined with my BM Music Education degree from the University of Toronto, informs how I explain complex theory. I often blend my own personal narrative of cultural adaptation into the way I teach music.
Whether you want to master barre chords or sight reading, I have seen it all. I prioritize ear training and song maintenance above all else. My approach involves converting your favorite song requests into simplified arrangements that make progress feel immediate. I simply aim to make the instrument feel like a natural extension of your hands.
