About Marilynn
Students wanting to find their specific sound usually find me first. Playing in 3 bands and releasing 5 records shaped my 13 years of experience into a very practical approach to guitar. I help you handle everything from tuning and maintenance to complex chord transitions.
Blues progressions and lead guitar feel much easier once we get your gear dialed in correctly. Reading tabs or writing your own music becomes a logical process once we master music theory and strumming patterns together. I truly enjoy helping others solve the same tone problems I faced during my touring years across the Boston area.

Good technique matters far less than how the instrument actually sounds through your amp. I graduated from USC Thornton School of Music with a degree in guitar, so I prioritize the physical reality of the sound over abstract concepts.
We spend time on specific technical hurdles and then apply them to songs you actually want to play. Monthly recorded reviews of progress ensure that we track your movement toward specific goals. You receive clear feedback on your playing dynamics and gear setup during these check ins. This process keeps our momentum steady while we refine your unique style.
